Dear Brethren and Co-Workers with Christ,
The seeds are now being sown to bring about the prophesied “Beast” of Revelation! As the Russian- sponsored men in black masks take over more police stations and other key facilities in the Ukraine, the European powers are reminded of how impotent they really are. Having depended upon the nuclear umbrella provided by the United States since World War II, the nations of central Europe now realize that they cannot depend upon America’s support in the future. Our actions have shown these nations—and many other nations around the world—that we will usually do a lot of “talking,” but we will not act vigorously to protect our friends from assimilation by Russia, China or other aggressors.
Increasingly, America is seen around the world as a “paper tiger.” As we at Tomorrow’s World have pointed out repeatedly, the God of our forefathers warned long ago, “But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant…. I will break the pride of your power; I will make your heavens like iron and your earth like bronze” (Leviticus 26:14-15, 19). Yes, although it is rapidly declining, America still has a great deal of power. But as we have turned our backs on the Creator who gave us the power and almost unparalleled wealth we have possessed, America and the British-descended peoples have become less cohesive, less competent, and increasingly confused about how to use the wealth and the power bestowed upon us.
When God is “left out,” bad things begin to happen! As God’s Word tells us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he” (Proverbs 29:18, KJV). Cut off from the true God, individual people and entire nations lose their sense of purpose and their reason for being. Families begin to come apart. Crime and violence begin to escalate. And all matter of perverted behavior soon becomes the norm. And, increasingly influenced by the Master Deceiver—Satan the Devil—most people simply do not know why these things are happening.
But you long-time readers of Tomorrow’s World do know why. Most of you know that I am the only one left of the five original evangelists ordained by Herbert W. Armstrong on December 20, 1952. You know that this Work really is carrying on and is fulfilling the purpose of preaching the full Truth of the Bible—the “whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27)—more than any other organization on earth. Although some other groups have leaders who have “anointed” themselves as “prophets” or even “apostles,” I have never done that. At age 83, I am driving myself on to fulfill the Great Commission in Matthew 24:14. And I have a very dedicated team of younger men and women to assist me. Many of them are more capable than I—for which I thank God!
Jesus said, “By their fruits you will know them” (Matthew 7:20).
The “fruits”—the results—of Tomorrow’s World and this Work of God have resulted in many hundreds of “brand new” people coming into the full Truth and being baptized—along with thousands of others who have known bits and pieces of Truth in the past. Many of these are people who have told us that they had never even heard of Herbert Armstrong and came into the Truth only because of this present Work! Of course, Mr. Armstrong would be “proud” of this! For, although we do not worship him as some others do, we gratefully acknowledge that God Almighty truly did use this man to come to understand and teach us the basic understanding of the Plan of God and of God’s way of life more than any other human in modern times! When thousands of us observed the true Christian Passover service the other night, I am sure that we were inspired by the awesome promise contained in Jesus’ final Passover prayer (see John 17). Those of us who truly try to “seek” God with all our hearts will be eternally grateful for the awesome blessings, glory and power that Jesus promised—blessings so wonderful that it is difficult for our human minds to fully comprehend!
As we enter the Spring Holy Day season, commanded by Almighty God, I pray that all of you dear brethren and co-workers will act on the Truth and genuinely give your lives to the God who granted you life. I pray “that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:17-19).
Again, dear brethren and co-workers, carefully read and study our unusually insightful booklet entitled, Your Ultimate Destiny. You and I were given life for a profound reason, for an awesome purpose. May God inspire each of you to become fully involved in fulfilling the supreme purpose for your life which God has intended and become involved in His inspiring Work which we are carrying out here at the end of this age. Let us demonstrate to our Creator and Jesus Christ that we truly do want to love and to serve our fellow man and help millions of others really understand the reason for their existence. We want to help them fulfill the supreme purpose for their very lives. Come join us zealously in this Crusade to give our fellow human beings the real Truth of the reason for their lives—and, through our involvement in God’s Work—help them attain that purpose.
