Dear Brethren and Co-Workers with Christ,
Greetings from Charlotte! It is my pleasure to write to all of our United States co-workers and brethren, at the request of our Presiding Evangelist, Mr. Gerald Weston. God’s Work continues to move forward around the world. Since the beginning of July 2020, God has opened doors for eleven new television stations in the U.S. Also, our Mail Processing Department reports that, in terms of literature sent out, last month was the biggest July in six years, and subscriptions to Tomorrow’s World magazine have passed 378,000 and continue to climb. Thank you for your loyal financial support of Christ’s Work, especially in this time when there is so much chaos and disruption in our nation.
However, we have also seen that recent weeks have brought more delays in the postal system. Please be patient as we work through these bumps and hurdles that are beyond our control, and join us in praying that God would continue giving us the ability to mail this valuable material.
In his June 17 co-worker letter, Mr. Weston wrote about the “fake history” we are seeing today. What do we mean by fake history? When it comes to real, hard facts about the past, many people are simply not taught the truth. That leaves them unable to recognize what is false. For example, a 2016 survey by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation found that one-third of millennials surveyed believe former President George W. Bush was responsible for more deaths than former Soviet leader Josef Stalin (Independent.co.uk, October 17, 2016). In reality, the Washington Post estimated the civilian and military deaths related to America’s engagement in Iraq to be around 600,000 on the outside, while Stalin’s brutal reign is generally believed to be responsible for the deaths of around 20 million people.
This lack of historical understanding is truly a grave concern. The Spanish philosopher George Santayana famously said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” But ask yourself: How many of us who are older have learned fake history as well? For example, where did the American nation come from, and why has our land been blessed like no other? Was it grit and hard work, American ingenuity, just blind luck… or the result of a Divine Hand?
Long-time readers of Tomorrow’s World know that this Work teaches that the so-called “lost” ten tribes of Israel correspond to those peoples descended from the nations of northwest Europe and the British Isles. Why do we teach that? Because there is real biblical, historical, and archaeological evidence to support it. (If you would like to order our free booklet The United States and Great Britain in Prophecy, call or write using the contact information above or order a copy on our website, TomorrowsWorld.org). Frankly, before the Enlightenment, the truth about the ten tribes was commonly known in seventeenth-century Great Britain. This is even admitted by skeptic and author Tudor Parfitt. He says that in England during the 1600s, “there was a long-running discourse celebrating the notion…that the ancestors of the English people were in fact Israelites.”
Why were you and I not taught this in school? How did this truth about the ten tribes disappear from the collective memory of most English-speaking people? Because there is a real spirit being, Satan the devil, whose aim is to deceive the whole world (Revelation 12:9), including present-day Israelites. He knows that if modern Israelites know who they are, they might perceive the prophetic warnings against them, they might repent of their national sins, and they might turn to God.
In this day and age when false accusations come easy, some may wonder if belief in the “lost” ten tribes is a reflection of “white supremacy.” Nothing could be further from the truth! The Bible shows the Israelites were not superior, but “impudent and stubborn” (Ezekiel 2:4). They repeatedly turned their backs on God, in spite of all His blessings. We need to know who modern Israelites are today if we are to warn them (Jeremiah 30:4-7). Furthermore, Paul says, “There is no partiality with God” (Romans 2:11). In God’s eyes, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed” (Galatians 3:28-29). And He “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4). Today God is extending His call far beyond physical Israel, to the spiritual “Israel of God” (Galatians 6:16). Those who respond make up His Church, the Body of Christ, composed of people of many nations, races, ethnic backgrounds, and languages.
We Americans have been given some of the most productive land on earth. We have been blessed beyond perhaps any other nation in history. We have inherited freedoms that other societies only dream of. And yet, too many of us are obsessed with seeking material success, mistakenly calling it the new “American dream.” We kill our unborn children, calling it “a woman’s choice.” We live in immorality, tearing down marriage and family, and call it “love.” We blaspheme God and spew out hate toward fellow citizens, and call it “freedom of expression.” Is it any wonder our society is descending into chaos? Consider the warning God gave through the prophet Jeremiah: “Your own wickedness will correct you, and your backslidings will rebuke you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing that you have forsaken the Lord your God, and the fear of Me is not in you” (Jeremiah 2:19).
What can we do? We can pray for our leaders and for our country. Pray that our friends and neighbors will repent. But most importantly, pray that God will help all of us, as individuals, to acknowledge our sins and to turn from them. In the book of Isaiah, the prophet admonishes, “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:6-7).
There is a coming judgment on modern Israel and on all nations. God help us see the handwriting on the wall before it is too late! Let’s avoid getting caught up in the rising strife that is tearing our nations apart. And let’s stay focused on our God-given mission of preaching the Gospel of the coming Kingdom of God. That is the real hope for mankind. Thank you again for your heartfelt support of this Work, both in prayer and financially. Let’s do everything we can to reach more of our people—and our beloved neighbors around the world—while there is still time.
Sincerely, in Christ’s service,
Rod McNair
