Greetings everyone,
This has been a hectic week here in San Diego. The work continues unabated, and Mr. Meredith is preparing for his Pentecost trip to New York and on to Europe. In an employee meeting he conducted this week, Mr. Meredith addressed three important issues:
- Areas in which we differ from some of the other groups which have proliferated out of the Worldwide Church of God in the past decade
- How we have related and will relate to other groups
- How we view our commission, and the importance of maintaining our focus
While it is painful to see the fragmentation following Mr. Armstrong's death, our fellowship is first through the Father and His Son Jesus Christ (1 John 1:3-7). As we "walk in the light" we give evidence of our relationship to Him and Christ by our relationship to one another (John 13:35).
Our work is to do the Work of God that He has given us to do and to "give an answer for the hope within" us. We should also say as Paul said in his defense, "For we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity to boast on our behalf, that you may have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart"
(2 Corinthians 5:12).
Announcement
Mr. Charles Bryce, currently Regional Director of the Canadian Work, will move to Kansas City as church and Regional Pastor. Replacing Mr. Bryce in Toronto as Director of the Canadian work will be Mr. Gerald Weston. We expect these moves to be made in November or December pending approval of Mr. Weston's application to live and work in Canada.
We are very pleased with the growth of the Canadian work under Mr. Bryce's direction. Mr. and Mrs. Bryce will soon have devoted twenty years of faithful service in Canada, and he and his family will be greatly missed by the Canadian brethren.
Mr. and Mrs. Weston have served as Pastor in Kansas City for 11 years. Mr. Weston has served in many areas in the field ministry since 1969. Mr. Weston will continue as North American Youth Development Director, overseeing the church youth programs.
For your information, Mr. Aaron Eagle has decided to return to work in the computer industry where he worked before. His move is effective immediately and other members of our staff will assume his duties.

Concluding Comments
Baruch Spinoza said, "What everyone wants from life is continuous and genuine happiness. Happiness is the rational understanding of life and the world." Most people do not have a rational understanding of the purpose of life — why man was created and placed on earth. Subsequently, man cannot have a rational understanding of the world — why there is so much pain and poverty. Those God has called out of this world ought to have understanding of why we are here and why this world is in chaos and conflict.
Having an understanding does not always remove us from the condition of chaos, nor from the effects of conflict. The love of God, which we have received, which we share with each other and with the world at large, is in contrast to the condition of a world under the sway and control of Satan.
Jesus prayed for the Kingdom of God — which He will soon set up. He taught His disciples to pray "thy Kingdom come." We can do no less.
