Dear Brethren and Co-Workers with Christ,
Very few people on this earth have any specific idea as to why they are alive! Most of us just grew up having a somewhat vague idea about some kind of “God” out there in space. Perhaps He seemed to be like a stern dictator who would like to punish evil men and women. On the other hand, many have been influenced to think of God as a fuzzy old “father figure” who “loves” everyone and wants everyone to be happy.
But do you really know why you were born? Have you come to understand and to “know” the true God—the God who reveals Himself in the Bible—the God who is right now beginning to powerfully intervene in world affairs? Many of you who carefully read Tomorrow’s World and study our booklets and follow closely this Work of the living God do understand a great deal about what His purpose is. You do try to obey God’s instruction, “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:36).
As prophetic events speed up over the next few years, it will become increasingly evident to you that there is one source which is giving you specific information about the meaning of all of these prophetic events now taking shape and of the ultimate purpose for your life. As we have told you many times, the immediate goal of true Christians is to be genuine “overcomers”—to let Christ live His life within us through the Holy Spirit—and so develop Christ’s character that God may use us in His Kingdom. Then, at the first resurrection, we will be those “kings and priests” assisting Christ in ruling over the nations and bringing genuine peace to this confused world during Christ’s one thousand year reign. For your Bible clearly states that the Eternal God has—in His Plan for true Christians—“made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth” (Revelation 5:10).
In addition, God’s Word instructs Christians over and over to get involved in proclaiming the true Gospel to “all nations.” As Jesus Christ commanded, “‘Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen” (Matthew 28:19-20).
Note that Christ did not say to go out and “just tell them about Jesus!” He specifically instructed them to teach “all the nations,” to observe “all things that I have commanded you” (v. 20).
Frankly, there is only one Church on earth today which truly does that. It is named the “Church of God” twelve times in the New Testament. It is the “little flock” (Luke 12:32) with Christ as the living Head—and this Church is now preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God as a “witness to all the nations” (Matthew 24:14) with increasing power and effectiveness. My friends, God’s Church alone genuinely understands the awesome purpose for your life!
The Eternal God inspired ancient King David to proclaim, “What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet” (Psalm 8:4-6).
When you come to truly understand the meaning of what King David wrote, you will realize that God has, indeed, made us in His image—more fully than most people fully begin to realize. For we are to become—after genuine repentance and going through a process of “overcoming” and growing in grace and in knowledge—the full sons of the great Creator who rules the heavens and the earth. In the resurrections from the dead, Jesus the Christ will have millions of full brothers. For your Bible tells us that He will become “the firstborn” among many brethren (Romans 8:29).
As Jesus Himself tells us, “But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection” (Luke 20:35-36). Note that we will be genuine sons of God, “being sons of the resurrection.” The implications of this for our awesome future as real members of the God Family go far beyond what most people realize. You and I were born for a truly awesome purpose!

May God help you, personally, to begin to genuinely grow in “the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13). That you may become a full son of the great Creator of the Universe and truly share with Christ and the Spirit-born saints the opportunity to revolutionize this entire world, and perhaps even share with God Himself creative activities throughout the entire cosmos! Each human being—made in God’s image—has been given a type of creative imagination far beyond the animal creatures around us. In that way, in addition to being in the physical form and shape of God we are made, to a degree, “in God’s image.” May God help us to realize how much more is “out there” if we truly surrender our minds and hearts to God, become members of His Family in the resurrection and “join” with Him and Jesus Christ in ruling this earth—and perhaps, later, even the Universe itself.
My friends, the supreme purpose for which you and I were created is absolutely awesome. As prophetic events hurdle forward swiftly toward the end of this age, we need to respond to our Creator as never before. We need to prepare ourselves to fulfill His purpose in our lives. And we need to get earnestly involved in actually doing the Work of God and reaching “all the nations” with the true message of His coming Kingdom and Government on this earth! We need to be “on fire” in doing the Work of God today—while there is still time!
May God open your eyes and truly “get the picture” and become more involved in actually fulfilling the actual purpose for which you were born! Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you dear co-workers and brethren. We will deeply appreciate your prayers and your zealous support for the very Work which Christ is now doing in preparing the way for His soon-coming Kingdom. If each of us does our part faithfully, the reward awaiting us at the resurrection will be far beyond what most of us can now understand. The living Jesus Christ proclaimed, “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work” (Revelation 22:12).
Let each of us go “all out” to do our part in Christ’s Work with thankfulness, enthusiasm and zeal.
