Greetings from Charlotte,
Members of the Council of Elders are scheduled to be in town for meetings next week. We meet twice per year in person and one or two times per year online. These in-person meetings greatly enhance unity in the Body of Christ. “Iron sharpens iron” (Proverbs 27:17), and it is important for us to bounce ideas off one another as we come from many different backgrounds and experiences. We are a worldwide work, and we all need to be on the same page. On a personal level, I greatly appreciate the counsel these men offer in an atmosphere of brotherly love. Please be praying for the safety of all those traveling and for the meetings to be productive and to reflect the mind of Christ. We have also learned that typhoon “Kalmaegi” has struck the center of the Philippines, causing considerable damage and claiming at least 114 lives, with 127 missing—and another typhoon is expected next week. At this point, it appears that our members in that area are okay. Your prayers for the people in the area would be appreciated.

We are asking for your assistance! While YouTube’s auto-dubbing technology makes it possible to preach our message in multiple languages, it is not flawless. To ensure the translations of our YouTube videos are doctrinally sound, we need volunteers who can help us monitor this content. If you are fluent in any of the following languages and can help review our YouTube videos as they are released, please email [email protected]: Arabic, Bangla, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malayalam, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Swedish, Tamil, Telugu, Ukrainian. Living Youth Programs
Morgan Montgomery Memorial Youth Fund
Many of you have contributed to the Morgan Montgomery Memorial Youth Fund since it began in 2016. As a result, on 152 occasions we have helped campers and young adult staff attend Living Youth Teen Camps in the United States, Europe, Latin America, South Africa, Benin, the Philippines, and New Zealand. We do not wish to burden anyone or build up an excessively large fund, and that is why we may go several years without mentioning it. However, the fund has dropped to a level that we would like to let anyone who is interested in helping teens and young adults attend one of our life-changing camps know that your contribution to the fund would be helpful at this time. Such a donation should obviously be specified for this purpose and not take away from normal tithes and offerings.

Are You a Team Player? God has called us to be part of a team—with a mission. Effective team players have skills and perspectives that can be identified and learned. Christian team players must be focused on the same goal—the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33)—and work together to preach the Gospel to the world (Mark 16:15). They strive to avoid saying or doing things that offend others (1 Corinthians 10:32; Matthew 18:6–7). They are forgiving and able to overlook slights and insults (Proverbs 10:12; 17:9). Team players don’t criticize or sit in judgment of others on the team; instead, they make sure their own lives are in order (Matthew 7:1–5; James 4:11). Effective team players have learned to be peacemakers (Matthew 5:9), and they treat others gently and respectfully, willing to listen (James 1:19). They appreciate that the team is made up of individuals with different talents, and they let other team members know that they are appreciated. In short, good team members have learned to love their neighbors. Let’s strive to develop these vital qualities.
Have a profitable Sabbath,

News and Prophecy
The King and the Pope Pray Together: During a visit to the Vatican last week, King Charles prayed with Pope Leo—“a first for the leaders of the Church of England and Catholic Church” (BBC, October 23, 2025). King Charles is technically the supreme governor of the Church of England—a church that broke away from the Roman church during the rule of King Henry VIII. Following their prayer, the King and the Pope exchanged gifts. Some are hailing this prayer meeting as “a great step forward in unity” for the Anglican and Catholic faiths (BBC, October 23, 2025). Could this mark the beginning of the return of a daughter to her Catholic mother (Isaiah 47:1–9; Revelation 17:5)?
While many Protestants see themselves as completely separate from the Roman Catholic Church, most of Catholicism’s core doctrines were brought over by Martin Luther, the admittedly very Catholic father of the Protestant Reformation. History clearly shows that Protestantism did not change or revise most Catholic doctrines—rather, it adopted them in one form or another as its own. The Anglican Church is no different. In fact, the Apostle John refers to the end-time Roman Catholic Church as the “mother” of churches that similarly teach false and pagan religious ideas (Revelation 17:1–6).
King Charles’ meeting with the Pope could help pave the way for some of the Protestant daughters of the Roman Catholic Church to come home to their spiritual mother. Time will tell. You can learn more about the true relationship between the Catholic and Protestant churches by reading or listening to Satan’s Counterfeit Christianity and “The Truth About the Protestant Reformation (Part 1).”
A Wake-up Call of World War III: On October 17, NATO forces downed what may have been a Russian drone flying near a military base hosting U.S. troops in Eastern Europe (UK Defense Journal, October 30, 2025). Drones were also seen “at a Belgian military base believed to host U.S. tactical nuclear weapons” (Newsweek, November 2, 2025), and each incident adds more tension to a situation already near the breaking point. What may have once been dismissed as minor skirmishes now carry ominous weight, because they occur against the backdrop of a war in Ukraine that has already drawn in the world’s most powerful nations in several ways, pulling NATO deeper into the conflict.
This latest confrontation is not an isolated event but part of a pattern that blurs the line between “support” and “participation.” As Tomorrow’s World warned in its article “Sleepwalking into World War III,” history shows how nations often stumble into catastrophic wars not through one decisive act but through a series of incremental steps—each justified at the time yet collectively leading to disaster.
The parallels to the 1930s are striking. Then, too, the world underestimated the consequences of unchecked aggression. Small sparks—such as the Marco Polo Bridge incident in Asia and the remilitarization of the Rhineland in Europe—ignited the war that consumed continents. Today, a drone shot down near a NATO base may seem minor, but it could prove to be one of those sparks.
The warning is clear: Humanity is once again drifting toward a conflict no one can afford. Leaders speak of deterrence, yet each escalation makes retreat harder. We are clearly warned not to sleep but rather to “watch and be sober” (1 Thessalonians 5:6). The drone incident in Eastern Europe is an alarm urging us to wake up before we sleepwalk into a war that could engulf the world—with sudden destruction that many will not be able to escape (v. 3).
