Weekly Update

December 13th, 2001

Greetings Everyone:

The work continues to move forward according to reports from the field and here in San Diego. Historically the period from Thanksgiving to New Year is hectic here in America. I do not have a personal experience as to how the shoppers are visiting the Malls in America, but the streets and highways here are surely busy. Our workload has surely not slackened.

I hear regularly of members being "laid off" due to the economic downturn here in the US. Unemployment is not a nice state to live in! Perhaps it was out of fear but when I have been unemployed in the past I could not rest until I had some kind of work. I was on the street from morning to evening answering ads from the newspaper or on leads from employment services. I made finding work my work—and I was seldom out of work more than a few days at a time. Granted, I was young then.
