Greetings from Charlotte,
Jamaica took a heavy blow from Hurricane Melissa, and it will take time for the island nation to recover from what many are saying was the worst hurricane it has ever endured. Early reports indicate that all our brethren there are safe, but, as of this writing, not all have been contacted. The Church has financial resources in place to assist, but getting any kind of help into a disaster area is always difficult. Please remember our brethren there, who are going to be in for a difficult time in the days, weeks, and months ahead. We currently have around 100–110 members and children attending services in Jamaica. We also have brethren in Cuba and Haiti, islands that were also affected. Please be praying for all these brethren at this time. There was also a 6.8-magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of Guadeloupe this week. It was a powerful quake, but all our members in Guadeloupe and nearby Caribbean islands are okay, with no damage to the area reported.
In addition, we have received a report that some of our Chin brethren in Myanmar (Burma) have had to flee from their village due to ongoing battles in a civil war in that country. Myanmar was also hit by a 7.7 earthquake earlier this year that killed some 4,000 people. Your prayers for our brethren and the people of this turbulent region will be much appreciated.

Living Education
Living Education-Charlotte Resumes
Our Living Education-Charlotte program has resumed after the fall Feast Days break. Students are digging into classes, which include not only classes focusing on Bible knowledge, but also classes on public speaking and writing. These sharpen our students’ communication skills, preparing them for success in both the short term and the long term. For those who proceed to further academic training, strong communication skills can maximize their investment in courses they’ll be taking and put them at the head of the class. For those that continue in vocational training or other skill-based programs, having the ability to communicate with excellence helps them to stand out from the typical student. For more information about Living Education-Charlotte, just go to lcgeducation.orgor email us at questions@lcgeducation.org.

Dangers of Division: Jesus warned that a kingdom, city, or house divided against itself will fall (Matthew 12:25). Today, in Satan’s world, we see nations, cities, families, and churches being torn apart by divisive words and actions. God is not the author of confusion and division (1 Corinthians 14:33), but Satan is, and he uses unsuspecting people to accomplish his goals (2 Corinthians 11:1–15). Satan stirred up the ancient Israelites to complain against Moses and Aaron (Exodus 16:1–3; 17:3), and he stirred up Miriam, Aaron, and other leaders to murmur against Moses—but they all reaped serious consequences (see Numbers 12:1–11; 14; 16). Paul warned the Corinthians about contentious factions dividing their congregation (1 Corinthians 1:10–11; 3:3; 11:18). We must be able to recognize and resist Satan’s attempts to divide God’s Church so that we aren’t caught up in his divisive schemes (1 Peter 5:5–9). We need to become peacemakers—not complainers and dividers—if we want to be in the Kingdom of God (Matthew 5:9).
Have a profitable Sabbath,

News and Prophecy
Reshaping the Middle East: While political pundits have speculated, Tomorrow’s World has highlighted end-time prophecies related to the Middle East for many years. One key prophecy concerns the coming “king of the South” foretold in Daniel 11. This regional power will be composed of a group of Middle Eastern nations and will aim to control the Holy Land. It will ultimately face off against the German-led European “beast” power and be overcome by it (Daniel 11:40–44).
Until recently, the nations of the Middle East have been a patchwork of peoples and ethnic groups divided by an ostensibly common religion and differing allegiances. But now, largely through the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump, several Middle Eastern nations are being pushed to work together (The Guardian, October 19, 2025). For example, Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan are discussing sending peacekeeping forces to Gaza. It appears that Iraq is being drawn into a more-central Arab perspective and is even considering sending troops to Gaza to contribute to the stabilization force. As one analyst noted, “The ceasefire [in Gaza] could act as an engine of integration within the region. It will reopen all the talk of major land connections from the Gulf to the Mediterranean, as well as the broader conversation about the [diplomatic and economic] normalisation of Israel.”
Rapid and far-reaching changes are now underway in the Middle East, and they are sure to bring about Bible prophecies in one way or another. Awareness of what God declares in the prophecies of His word is crucial in comprehending what is unfolding before our eyes. You can learn more about the future of this vital area of the world by listening to or reading The Middle East in Prophecy.
Europe’s 28th Regime: A Tool to Unite Europe? The European Union was built on grand ambitions—peace, prosperity, and unity. Yet beneath the surface of its single market lies a maze of 27 national systems: 27 tax codes, 27 sets of consumer laws, and 27 bureaucracies. Businesses hoping to sell across borders must navigate this tangled web at great cost. To fix this, EU leaders are thinking about a new idea called the “28th regime” (Euractive, October 16, 2025). It is a set of optional rules that businesses could choose to follow instead of each country’s laws. If it works, a company could hire workers in different countries using one contract or sell eco-friendly products without having to meet 27 different standards.
Some think this is smart and helpful, while others worry that it could be unfair. Big companies might use the new system to avoid rules that protect workers. That could create a “two-speed Europe” where some people benefit while others are left behind. There is also a question of who would enforce these new rules. Past EU regulations like GDPR, which protects online privacy, have not always been followed the same way in every country.
The Bible gives us a bigger picture. In Daniel 2, a statue is seen in a vision, having feet of iron and clay that symbolize an end-time kingdom that is strong but divided—just as you see in a mixture of iron and clay. The EU seems similar—trying to unite but remaining very divided. Revelation 17 points to the rise of ten “kings” or leaders who will give their power to one ruler. Could the EU be moving toward that event? The lesson is clear: Man-made plans for unity do not last without God. As Europe builds new systems, we should stay alert and remember Jesus’ words: “Be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect” (Matthew 24:44).
